gone

she is a light
a bright light in the dark
my star in the mire
my hope in despair
my reason to go on 
when darkness falls
my existence
when only fear reigns
where is she now?
where has she gone
why did she fade
like dreams do
I may have missed
her slip away
in the commotion
but she's gone
and all hope fades
